The product is nothing special, a stick with a basket on the end. It is poorly made and by the time you pay shipping it is overly priced. I suggest if you buy this you include it with a larger order. It does perform as one would expect and contrary to appearences is still in good condition.

I purchased this recommended strainer with a Fry Daddy. I didn't know that the Fry Daddy came with a (plastic) strainer. I never used the 5" stainless steel strainer.

I use the Fry Daddy a LOT.

I love this item. I have used it every single day since I got it. And plan to buy a couple more so that I have extra in case one is dirty. You can't go wrong with this utensil.

I was making fried okra one evening and didn't want to get my hands all goopy digging the okra out of the corn meal. So I used the strainer, just scooped and jiggled it a bit to get the extra meal off the okra. Then I was able to just drop the okra in the oil. I was then able to remove the okra when it was done with that same strainer. It really made a difference on how much oil was removed when I took it out of the hot oil. And Best of all NO Goopy hands!

I ordered this from MV Trading Co. and when I received them bamboo handles were broken. They were packed in a very low quality padded manila envelope which they should have known would not stand up to USPS shipping. I e-mailed MV Trading for a replacement about 2 weeks ago and still have not heard from them. My advise to anyone planning to order from this company, pick another company. I will not order from them again.

These are fantastic kitchen tools and these particularly are VERY WELL MADE. The wire is thick and sturdy as is the bamboo handle.

I use mine for everything from plucking fried items out of my wok (I deep fry in it) to pulling pasta noodles and ravioli out of boiling water to a strainer when I pour a pot out into the sink.

This is an amazingly simple product but it is so useful. No need to dirty a colander when draining boiled potatoes. Get all your fried foods out of the oil in one or two swipes of the skimmer. Great quality product.

This comes with 2 skimmers. Build quality is solid, note that they charged about $7 for shipping, so add that in and it is still cheaper than what I found in shopping around, and these are also hard to find, at least in the Detroit area.
