Long Story Short .. This is a VERY thin walled, light weight pan, plumped out to look Wok'ish with a SMALL aluminum heat distribution disk sandwiched to the bottom. NOT WORTHY of the Cuisinart brand. As a result of the uneven heating, food adheres to the stainless top to bottom and the oil darkens and welds itself to the thin side walls which badly overheat relative to the bottom( neither of which occurs in my better quality stainless wok ). If I'd not already tossed the packaging in anticipation of full satisfaction from a Cuisinart product, this item would be going back. Do yourself a HUGE favor .. Save your pennies a few weeks longer, plan to spend 2 to 3 times the price of this item and get something you'll be happy with .. When comparing similar cookware .. compare the WEIGHT of items of the same diameter .. ( correct by 1/3 when comparing an item with a lid to one without ) If possible, look for thicker walls or better still uniformly thick walls & bottom to evenly distribute heat and have not burning or hot spots.

This product surpassed our expectations and it was priced extremely low for that kind of quality. Don't expect the inside of the pan to gleam, even after the first use, though, unless you make extra efforts. The pan is light and so easy to use.

I appreciate all the warnings of not using High heat with this wok. The Wok worked great! My mother loves it, the cover is a bit heavy for her but the overall performance of the pan is fabulous!

Only problem (more a question) I've had with this is that it doesn't have the 18/10 stamp on the pan bottom. Are there 2 versions? I've seen some Cuisinart products listed as 18/10 here listed as 18/4 on another site.
All my other 18/10 cookware is stamped 18/10 in one way or another.
